Extended Access
Appointments are available early morning, evenings and weekends. These are GP and other healthcare professional appointments. Weekend GP appointments are with GP at Hand, our local linked practice. These appointments are telephone appointments. Please call reception to book a telephone appointment. Alternatively, please visit 111 online or call 111 to be directed to the help you need.
Our practice is part of a small group of practices called a Primary Care Network. We are working with other local GP practices to provide out of hour appointments. Working together means we can provide more local services to you.
If you would like an early morning, evening, or Saturday appointment with a GP or other healthcare professional, you can book it directly through our practice.
During booking, our receptionist will ask if you consent to record sharing. Consenting allows GP at Hand to access your medical records for your Saturday appointment, ensuring you receive the best possible care. Without consent, you will still be seen, but the healthcare provider may have limited information, which could affect the quality of care.
We will send you a confirmation text message (please provide us with your mobile number if you haven’t already) with the appointment details, including the time, date, practice name, and postcode. To cancel, simply contact the practice.
For non-urgent matters, you can also use the online consultation form available on our practice website. Responses will be provided during practice hours.
Out of Hours and Emergencies
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
